Guance Cloud Passes China's MLPS Level-3 Security Certification with High Scores

The Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS) for network security is an upgraded version of information security classified protection. The MLPS 2.0 standard, officially in force since December 1, 2019, is China's foundational institution in the network security domain and the most authoritative national certification for information system security classified protection.

Classified protection comprises five levels. Level 3 sets extremely strict requirements on security management and control and is classified as "regulatory level," subject to supervision and inspection by national information security regulators. The certification assessment covers 5 sets of classified-protection security technical requirements and 5 sets of security management requirements, spanning nearly 300 requirements—information protection, security audit, communication confidentiality, and more—across 73 assessment categories. The bar is exceptionally high, making this the highest-level certification the state grants to non-banking institutions.

This round of MLPS Level-3 certification assessed Guance Cloud's physical environment, hosts, networks, business application systems, security management policies, and personnel. It progressed through static evaluation, on-site testing, comprehensive assessment, and related stages, and—across the two dimensions of security technology and security management—conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the secure physical environment, secure communication network, secure area boundary, secure computing environment, security management center, security management policies, security management organization, personnel security management, security construction management, security operations management, and other aspects.

With the successful completion of this MLPS Level-3 assessment, Guance Cloud's information security management capability has taken another step up, and the platform's stability, compatibility, and data security are now more effectively safeguarded. It also fully demonstrates that while Guance Cloud provides customers with observability services spanning cloud, cloud-native, applications, and business, it can go further to meet the security extension requirements of emerging technologies—providing solid, dependable platform support for enterprises' digital business transformation and expansion in the cloud era.
