Smart Construction, Scientific Management: Tunnel Crew Construction Management System Now in Operation
With China's economic growth and technological progress, highway construction has advanced rapidly — allowing route layouts to be optimized more thoroughly when selecting new expressway alignments.

With China's economic development and scientific and technological progress, the country's road construction has advanced rapidly. When selecting expressway routes, planners can now optimize route layouts more thoroughly than before, and the old mindset of "detour rather than bore through" has been cast aside. As a result, in the road construction of recent years, large numbers of "tunnel clusters" have appeared in mountainous, rolling terrain, and tunnels have become the controlling works of mountain highway construction, taking up an ever-growing share of total route length. How to raise the efficiency and quality of tunnel construction is therefore the central issue in tunnel construction.
To solve problems of this kind, Sichuan Lingser Technology Co., Ltd. joined forces with Gansu Wuhuan Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. to develop the "Tunnel Crew Construction Management System."

The system primarily solves the problem of crew management in tunnel construction, implementing a four-tier crew management model that runs from crews and crew leaders to construction divisions, project departments, and the company. The system is divided into three parts: the first is process management, the second is construction technology management, and the third is quality control management.
Process management aims to move tunnel crew construction handovers from offline to online, fully reflecting the convenient and timely gains in work efficiency.

Beyond submitting reports and one-to-one sending and receiving, process management also collects the work record data of every unit project and compiles them into unified reports that display construction status.

Construction technology management covers four categories—construction logs, technical disclosure, interim disclosure, and standardized construction—and is designed to meet tunnel crews' needs for daily updates on construction progress, online transmission of documents, and timely delivery.
Quality management aims to supervise and eliminate safety hazards in the construction environment and in the construction project itself, saving manpower and material resources, and genuinely meeting the requirements of rapidly clearing hazards to safeguard construction personnel and keeping project quality up to standard. It can also produce statistical analyses of recent hazards from the relevant hazard data, allow hazard issues to be viewed by category, and help tunnel crews plan their next hazard prevention measures—reducing safety risks and enabling safe construction.

The project was officially launched on July 1, 2018, with Sichuan Lingser Technology Co., Ltd. responsible throughout for design, development, and debugging. Taking 35 working days, it was delivered on August 15, 2018 to Gansu Wuhuan Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. for internal trial operation.
As of today, the management system has been in formal operation for one week, and it has received unanimous praise from Gansu Wuhuan Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. during this period.
